It is with great regret that I have to inform you of the death of my father Captain Stanley Mullen who passed away after a short illness on 16th October 2011. He joined the 1st Battalion ACF in South Shields in 1941, a member of the Home Guard, Northumberland hussards. He was RQMS in the 50's with the ACF he left Shields in 1972 as a lieutenant. He then joined the Royal Anglian ACF in Northampton, he formed detachments in Daventry, Towcester and Daventry. He was awarded outstanding service award presented by Princess Alice. He retired at 65 and because of his exceptional service he retained his status of Captain. He will be sadly missed by his widow Isabelle and three children
